Ivan Garibay, Ph.D., discusses his work to improve the understanding of social media disinformation and polarization – in particular, new methods for complex social-technical modeling using agent-based models and their connection with the emerging area of artificial social intelligence. He will cover three of his projects funded by DARPA and Disney

Ozlem Ozmen Garibay, Ph.D., presents “Six Human-Centered Artificial-Intelligence Grand Challenges and AI-Assisted Drug Target Interaction.” She discusses her research in two focus areas: drug and material design; and social systems. She shares AI’s grand challenges and how they aid in modeling influence pathways; and in developing a machine-learning modeling approach to discover nanomaterials and drug candidates
