Faculty Talk 1 – Dr. Joseph Kider
Joseph Kider, Ph.D., presents “Bits to Bricks: How to Bridge Building-Energy Modeling with Human Activity.” He introduces his NSF-funded study that investigates how augmented reality and building-information modeling technologies can be integrated to increase human performance, specifically with retraining construction workers in retrofitting and repurposing buildings. He explains how a physics-based approach to energy and light simulation produces more informed design choices
Faculty Talk 2 – Dr. Ghaith Rabadi
Ghaith Rabadi, Ph.D., presents “Multimodal Transportation Simulations and Optimization,” and discusses his research on models and algorithms for multimodal supply chain and transportation problems. These include military and humanitarian deployment, airport runway scheduling, electric vehicle routing and container trans-shipment at port terminals
