Graduate Faculty Scholar and Graduate Faculty Nomination Form
Graduate Faculty Scholar and Graduate Faculty Nomination Form – Submit this form electronically to nominate an external committee member as a UCF Graduate Faculty Scholar or to nominate an internal committee member as a UCF Graduate Faculty. Attach a CV/Resume with to the request form. The CV/Resume should indicate prior service in a dissertation committee, publications, teaching experience, and research project leadership and research funding record if applicable.
Trailing Student Policy (described below for PhD students with some graduate credits earned)
To assist with the recruitment of new faculty, UCF will accommodate to the extent possible departmental requests to allow new faculty to relocate to UCF along with their current graduate students. The total number of transferring students must be approved by the faculty’s home department and the College of Graduate Studies.
Students seeking to transfer must complete the UCF online application.
A trailing student can transfer 48 credits from their previous institution meeting the following conditions:
- The course work must be formal course work. No thesis, research, or independent study course will transfer. These courses are usually graded either pass/fail or satisfactory/unsatisfactory.
- The course work must be a B or better.
- The credits must be reflected on an official transcript. If the transcript is not in English, a translation of the transcript is required by the student.
- Any substitution of a required course will require the transferred course’s syllabus and the UCF syllabus for the replaced course.
After transferring, students must complete 9 grade bearing courses at UCF.
Students will have to complete the department’s candidacy requirements by the stated deadlines posted on the UCF Academic Calendar. Candidacy requirements vary program to program, please follow up with your program’s Graduate Program Director for details becoming a Candidate.
Trailing students must complete 15-18 dissertation credits and successfully defend their research in a public meeting.
All CECS students must file their online intents to graduate in the term preceding their graduating semester through their MyUCF Portal.
